Grants Summary
2006 Grants

Text Box: The Board of Directors meets one time per year, in the fall, to consider grant applications.  The deadline for the meeting is June 15.
An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent out within two weeks.  If the request falls outside of the Foundation’s criteria and therefore is declined, you will be notified at that time. 
The review process takes several months.

The Board of Directors meets annually in the fall to consider grant applications. 

The deadline for grant applications is June 15 or the next business day if it falls on a weekend. 

Grant proposals should not be submitted before April 15.

An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent immediately. 

If the request falls outside of the Foundation’s criteria and therefore is declined, you will be notified within six weeks.

Proposals should be written according to the requirements listed below and addressed to:

Proposal Requirements:

The Foundation asks potential grantees to submit a short letter of no more than two pages stating the following:

1.       Background and history of the organization, with an emphasis on relevant work leading to the current project.

2.       A statement of the issue, the problem, or need accompanied with the appropriate documentation.

3.       A description of the project including the objectives or outcomes to be achieved and the methods and activities to be adopted.  A timeline for project completion must also be  included.

The following attachments must accompany the proposal:

Grant requests up to $25,000

1.          Request Application Form

2.        IRS letter confirming tax-exempt status – 501(c)(3) and  509(a)

3.        Current Board list

4.        Project or Capital Budget

4.      A schedule outlining the fundraising strategy.  Include a time line, other sources of funding and a statement of plans for funding beyond the proposed period of foundation support.     List companies and foundations being approached, indicating what sources are committed, pending or anticipated.

5.       Financial Information:

§  Most recent independent audit or account review

§  Year-to-date financial statement for the current fiscal year,  if available

§  Project or capital budget

§  Board approved organizational budget for the fiscal year(s). Please include the following:

1.         Time period budget covers

2.      Revenue: provide a line item revenue statement for all applicable budget categories:

3.         Expenses: provide a line item expense budget, with narrative footnotes for those applicable items, which need further explanation.
